The parliament of India through section 5A of Aircraft Act 1934 empowered Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) to make better provision for the control of the possession, use, operation, sale, import and export of Aircraft in India. Hence DGCA (Director General of Civil Aviation) Govt. Of India became the sole Authority for monitoring and controlling the civil aviation activities in India. Under the provision of Aircraft, Rules 1937, for maintenance and certification of Aircraft concerned person must have Aircraft maintenance engineers license issued by DGCA.

Million smaller private aircraft used for business or pleasure. India is one of fastest developing countries in the world new sophisticated Aircraft are being opened. The government open sky policy has encouraged new operators to launch their airlines and feeder lines are becoming viable. Besides our large network of domestic airlines. Several international airlines are operating through India, Many private airlines and corporations are operating today with very good operating revenues.

To meet the growing for the airlines, cargo aircraft, private air taxi operators, business and corporate jets, an urgent need for Aircraft Maintenance Engineer exist. During the Training of Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME), lessons are imparted for maintenance of Aircraft to ensure 100 per cent Flight Safety Nature of Duties: An Aircraft Maintenance Engineer is responsible to keep the aircraft in airworthy condition at all times by carrying out Servicing, repair, inspection, test, of airframe, Engine, A/C System, and Avionics System. They play a major role in keeping the aircraft in airworthy condition.

The maintenance of aircraft calls state-of-the art for high degree of technical knowledge, competence, proficiency, dexterity and integrity on part of the concerned personnel. They work on every system of Aircraft, including A i r f r a m e s , H y d r a u l i c s a n d pneumatics, Engine Fuel systems, Control, communications, Instrument and Electric system. Aircraft can fly only after issuing the certificate by an AME to confirm that Aircraft is Airworthy and fit to fly.
